December 2-4, 2014

On December 2, myself, 27 students and 3 apprentices took to the woods for another 2 day survival trip (again equipped only with the clothes on our back, canteens, knives and some cordage). While the first trip dealt with chilly temperatures and rain, the second group of students had to tolerate downright cold temperatures. To be completely honest, out of all of the survival trips that I've taken in my life, the first night of this trip ranks up with one of the hardest that I've ever done.....

November 24-26, 2014

On Monday, November 24th, myself, 25 of my students and 2 of my apprentice instructors took to the woods for a 2 day/2 night survival trip with only the clothes on our back, our knives, canteens and some cordage. We got a late start due to a few students arriving past our intended departure time and actually hit the woods at roughly 7:30am. We circled up immediately beforehand to discuss who was on the fire team, how to be most efficient with the minimal daylight hours that we were working with and the importance of working together as a unit to accomplish what we needed to get done....
